Dual wield, 2h Weapons and 2h Weapons is the best option right now. Use shields only for slaying hard tasks or dragons (if you don't own any weapons that can be used to stop fire). If I were you I'd purchase a dspear, as that's a cheap melee weapon of tier 60 (you could also get dual-wield dlongs and dscims). To play mage, take part in it in the Mage Arena (in the wilderness) and buy a god staff. For range, get an elder shortbow. This is all I'm thinking of.

If you look at the price fluctuations of bandos, it seems to be within my price range. Are the prices stable at the current prices or how should I look at it? If you want to get a range, is the shortbow the way to go? Are crossbows no longer good or desired?

Would you recommend getting a different type of weapons? In the moment I'm playing with dual wield Dscims from last time I played on this account. Should I also get stab and crush weapons? If so, what advice would you recommend. As for Whips are they still an option for you?
