That being said I do want Skull Kid was in Animal Crossing New Horizons Bells precisely the exact same quantity of demand today because he had been then. Zelda nevertheless has gotten no more meaningful representation, and Skull Kid stays the ideal pick to give the franchise it's much deserved new fighter--and he's been largely forgotten in discussions about new characters.

Yeah, Skull Kid is the only Nintendo choice I REALLY want left. I'd honestly be really happy with Midna or Tetra as well. Just SOMEONE to signify Zelda that is not a Triforce Trio incarnation.

I've a feeling that we're likely to get BOTW Zelda, and while I do believe that could be cool I would be disappointed if Zelda's only meaningful representation because freaking MELEE would be yet another Zelda.

I knew someone was gont say that, but essentially in my head she is different enough from Zelda to where I'd be fine with it. Hell she is not even very"Zelda" before the final third of that game, and even at the end she goes straight back to her pirate roots. She feels different from Zelda is basically what I'm getting at. Personality wise, design wise, everything is much more Tetra compared to Zelda.

Impa is a fairly close second though, I gotta say. Zelda is drastically underrepresented, which may be partly because of scarcity of recurring characters that aren't among those three, but between Skull Kid, Impa, and Midna, there's definitely room for one more new character in the series.

I doubt it is true, but I would be legit angry if this turned out to be the rationale. Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy swap out of their whole cast of characters every game (with just the occasional direct sequel), yet they are still permitted multiple repetitions in precisely the exact same game. Zelda has sooooo many one-game-only personalities which will still fit great into Smash, only examine the roster of both Hyrule Warriors matches.

The"hard r" isn't even near the worst shit people used to say. Honestly the fact folks find that word offensive now is amusing for me because of how completely tame it seems to me relative to the old things.
