The classification of water system valves, so that you no longer get lost, easily understand the classification standards of valves, and know the suppliers of water system valves.

There are so many types of valves, how to distinguish them, an article will guide you.

Classification standard for water system valves

Water system valve

1.according to the power points

(1)automatic valve

A valve that operates on the strength of the medium itself. Such as check valve, pressure reducing valve, steam trap, safety valve, etc.

(2)drive valve

Valves that rely on external forces such as manpower, electricity, hydraulics, and pneumatics to operate. Such as globe valve, throttle valve, gate valve, butterfly valve, ball valve, plug valve, etc.

2. according to structural characteristics

(1) Cut-off: The closing member moves along the centerline of the valve seat.

(2) Gate shape: The closing member moves along the center line perpendicular to the seat.

(3)-Plug: The closing piece is a plunger or ball that rotates around its own centerline.

(4) Swing shape: The closing member rotates around an axis outside the valve seat.

(5) Disc: The closing piece is a disc that rotates around an axis inside the valve seat.

(6) Slide valve type: The closing piece slides in the direction perpendicular to the channel.

3. According to the purpose

(1) for breaking: used to cut off or connect the pipeline medium. Such as shut-off valve, gate valve, ball valve, plug valve, etc.

(2) Adjustment: used to adjust the pressure or flow of the medium. Such as pressure reducing valve, regulating valve.

(3) Distribution: used to change the flow direction of the medium and play a distribution role. Such as three-way cock, three-way stop valve, etc.

(4) non-return use: used to prevent the backflow of the medium. such as check valves.

(5) Safety use: When the medium pressure exceeds the specified value, the excess medium is discharged to ensure the safety of the equipment. Such as safety valve, accident valve.

(6) For gas blocking and drainage: retain gas and remove condensed water. such as traps.

4.According to the operation method

(1) Manual valve: a valve operated by manpower with the help of handwheels, handles, levers, sprockets, gears, worm gears, etc.

(2) Electric valve: a valve that is operated with the help of electricity.

(3) Pneumatic valve: a valve operated by means of compressed air.

(4) Hydraulic valve: a valve that is operated by transmitting external force with the help of water, oil and other liquids.

5. According to pressure points

(1) Vacuum valve: a valve with an absolute pressure less than 1 kg/cm2.

(2) Low pressure valve: valve with nominal pressure less than 16 kg/cm2.

(3) Medium pressure valve: valve with a nominal pressure of25-64 kg/cm2.

(4). High pressure valve: valve with nominal pressure of 100-800 kg/cm2.

(5) Ultra-high pressure: valves with a nominal pressure of1000 kg/cm2 or more.

6. According to the medium temperature

(1) Ordinary valve: suitable for valves with a medium working temperature of -40 to 450 °C.

(2) High temperature valve: suitable for valves with medium working temperature from 450 to 600 °C.

(3) Heat-resistant valve: suitable for valves with medium working temperature above 600 °C.

(4). Low temperature valve: suitable for valves with medium working temperature of -40 to -70 °C.

(5) Cryogenic valve: suitable for valves with medium working temperature from -70 to -196°C.

(6) Ultra-low temperature valve: suitable for valves with medium working temperature below -196 ℃.

7. According to the nominal diameter

(1) Small-diameter valves: valves with a nominal diameter of less than 40 mm.

(2) Medium-diameter valves: valves with a nominal diameter of 50 to300 mm.

(3) Large-diameter valves: valves with a nominal diameter of350 to1200 mm.

(4) Extra large diameter valve: valve with a nominal diameter greater than1400 mm.

The above classification is not absolute, and can be classified from other angles, but mastering these basic classifications is of great benefit to our understanding of a wide variety of valves.
