Similar to previous NBA 2K games, you have the option to request a trade in MyCareer, just as you did in previous games. However, due to the introduction of quests into The City and MyCareer, the process may take a little longer and be a little more indirect, depending on which platform you are playing on. So, how do you go about requesting a trade? It will take some time and effort, as well as a quest. NBA 2K22 predicts the season for the Boston Celtics in 2021-2022
Trade requests are incorporated into the story of MyCareer, and the process is nearly identical for both the older and younger generations of players. You have the ability to force a trade even in your first season. However, there is something you must do before then. To begin, you must first obtain the status of a starter, which can be obtained in current-gen by completing a number of quests.
After you've completed your first game as a starter, you should receive a text message on your phone containing a video clip of yourself. During this video, former NBA player Kendrick Perkins declares on television that he's heard rumors that you're trying to get kicked off your team. After that, you must meet with Ricky at your residence. Ricky will approach you and ask if you want to be traded. If you do, please respond affirmatively.
You will need to progress through the game until you see a new cutscene in old-gen or receive an update in the trade quest, entitled The Come Up: Trade Rumors, in current-gen after telling Ricky that you want a trade. From here, you'll need to speak with your agent and confirm that you want to be traded from your current organization before proceeding.
At this point, you will be asked which team you would like to be assigned to next. You will be given the option to choose from three different locations, but it is best to start with the team that you are most interested in visiting first.
From here on out, you'll have to keep playing until you complete two more additional tasks. When you arrive at the team's practice facility, you will need to speak with the team's general manager, as well as reporter Candice Green. If you are playing on current-gen hardware, you must complete the latter task in The City. Once that is completed, you will need to proceed through the games in order to have your trade request honored.
It may take a longer period of time to complete this quest and have the trade completed successfully. This will ultimately be determined by when you are designated as a starter. Even if you don't want to be traded, you should be able to get one sometime around the middle of your first season if you tell Ricky and your agent that you want to be traded.
