Man City Set To Make Gvardiol Move

Guardiola knows Aymeric Laporte's future at City is unclear and wants to strengthen his defensive options accordingly. He has expressed an interest in Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig's Croatian World Cup star Josko Gvardiol who they got an up close and personal look of during their Champions League round 16 tie against them.

Guardiola may well consider signing 21-year-old Defensive midfielder Aaron Ramsey who comes with a release clause of PS96m and interest from Chelsea and Liverpool respectively.

Aymeric Laporte to Paris Saint-Germain

Aymeric Laporte has fallen out of favour at Manchester City this season and wants out. After signing for an eye-watering transfer fee from Athletic Bilbao last summer, Laporte has only started seven Premier League matches this term.

Guardiola was quick to recognize Gvardiol's talent during City's clash against RB Leipzig in Champions League competition and would love to sign him at Etihad Stadium; unfortunately though, his contract at City is still up two years.

Chelsea to sign Gvardiol

City are making more efforts to sign the defender, seeing him as an ideal replacement for Laporte. He was linked with Barcelona during his summer transfer window but they seem determined to sign him for themselves instead.

RB Leipzig have no interest in selling Gvardiol as they consider him essential to their future success. His contract runs until 2027 and his significant release clause of nearly PS97 Million will kick in next year.

Pep Guardiola is an enormous admirer of 21-year-old Leipzig and City defender David Alaba. After watching them face each other in their Champions League Round 16 clash, Guardiola believes he would make an ideal replacement for French international Nicolas Pepe as well as offering cover at left-back where City are short of options.
