Then, I believe that some people are quite at a loss about the hot-dip Galvanized technology, hot-dip Galvanized process, the development of the hot-dip Galvanized process and the formation of the galvanized layer, let’s look at the following together!

Hot dip galvanized

Hot-dip Galvanized is also called hot-dip Galvanized and hot-dip Galvanized: it is an effective metal anti-corrosion method, which is mainly used in metal structure facilities in various industries. The rust-removed steel parts are immersed in a molten zinc solution at about 500°C, so that a zinc layer is attached to the surface of the steel parts, thereby achieving the purpose of anti-corrosion.

Hot-dip Galvanized process

Hot-dip Galvanized process: finished product pickling-water washing-adding auxiliary plating solution-drying-rack plating-cooling-medication-cleaning-polishing-hot-dip Galvanized completed. Hot-dip Galvanized is developed from the older hot-dip method. Since France applied hot-dip Galvanized to industry in 1836, it has a history of more than 170 years. In the past 30 years, with the rapid development of cold-rolled strip steel, the hot-dip Galvanized industry has developed on a large scale. The hot-dip Galvanized process is also more efficient.

Hot-dip Galvanized process development

Since the standard electrode potential of zinc is negative than that of iron, the galvanized layer in water and humid air has the function of sacrificial anode to protect the steel base, which can greatly extend the service life of the steel. The galvanized coatings commonly used in industry include hot-dip Galvanized, electro-Galvanized, mechanical Galvanized and thermal spraying Galvanized, among which hot-dip Galvanized accounts for about 95% of the total amount of Galvanized, and the amount of zinc used in hot-dip Galvanized is worldwide It accounts for 40% of zinc production in China, and about 30% of zinc production in China.

Hot-dip Galvanized is a process technology in which metals such as steel, stainless steel, and cast iron are immersed in molten liquid metal or alloy to obtain a coating. Hot-dip Galvanized is the most widely used steel surface treatment method with the best performance-to-price ratio in the world today. Hot-dip galvanized products play an incalculable and irreplaceable role in reducing corrosion and extending life, energy saving and material saving of steel. At the same time, coated steel is also a high value-added short-term product supported and developed by the state. Hot-dip Galvanized process development is gradually becoming more efficient.

With the implementation of the Western Development Strategy, the in-depth development of projects such as West-East Power Transmission, West-East Gas Transmission, South-to-North Water Diversion, Three Gorges Project, rural power grid and urban power grid second grid transformation, the development of my country's hot-dip Galvanized process has gradually become more efficient.

The principle of Galvanized B

Hot-dip Galvanized, also known as hot-dip Galvanized, is a method in which steel components are immersed in molten zinc to obtain a metal coating. With the rapid development of high-voltage power transmission, transportation, and communications, the protection requirements for steel parts are getting higher and higher, and the demand for hot-dip Galvanized is also increasing.

Protection performance

The thickness of the electro-galvanized layer is usually 5~15μm, and the hot-dip galvanized layer is generally above 35μm, even as high as 200μm. Hot-dip Galvanized has good coverage, dense coating and no organic inclusions. As we all know, the anti-atmospheric corrosion mechanism of zinc includes mechanical protection and electrochemical protection. Under atmospheric corrosion conditions, there are protective films of ZnO, Zn(OH)2 and basic zinc carbonate on the surface of the zinc layer, which can slow down the corrosion of zinc to a certain extent. The protective film (also known as white rust) is damaged and a new film is formed.

When the zinc layer is seriously damaged and the iron matrix is endangered, zinc will produce electrochemical protection for the matrix. The standard potential of zinc is -0.76V, and the standard potential of iron is -0.44V. When zinc and iron form a microbattery, zinc is dissolved as an anode. It is protected as a cathode. Obviously, hot-dip Galvanized has better atmospheric corrosion resistance to base metal iron than electro-Galvanized.

Galvanized layer formation process

The formation process of the hot-dip Galvanized layer is the process of forming an iron-zinc alloy between the iron matrix and the outermost pure zinc layer. The iron-zinc alloy layer is formed on the surface of the workpiece during hot-dip coating, which makes the iron and pure zinc layer very close. Good combination, the process can be simply described as: when the iron workpiece is immersed in molten zinc, a solid solution of zinc and alpha iron (body core) is first formed on the interface. This is a crystal formed by dissolving zinc atoms in the base metal iron in a solid state. The two metal atoms are fused, and the attraction between the atoms is relatively small. Therefore, when zinc reaches saturation in the solid solution, the two element atoms of zinc and iron diffuse each other, and the zinc atoms that diffuse into the iron matrix migrate in the matrix lattice, gradually form an alloy with iron, and diffuse into the molten zinc. The iron in the metal forms an intermetallic compound with zinc, which sinks into the bottom of the hot-dip Galvanized pot, which is called zinc dross. When the workpiece is removed from the zinc immersion solution, a pure zinc layer is formed on the surface, which is a hexagonal crystal. Its iron content is not more than 0.003%.
