In order to celebrate the Dunk in its truest form, With Air Max 270, Nike brought back the original cut and silhouette from 1985 with the help of UNDERCOVER and their UBA collaboration earlier this summer. What followed was a series of Acid Wash styles that spoke to the vivid fashion sense of the times, one that is remembered for its novelty than for its revolution. Despite the Dunk High “Acid Wash” drops being received in lukewarm manner, Nike is still planning to drop new colorways of this concept.
The Nike Dunk High 1985 Orange Acid Wash features a Cream-colored base with contrasting Blue overlays rendered in a unique “Orange Acid Wash” finish. These are tacked on with contrast orange stitching, with more hits of the hue found at the tongue tags, liners, Swoosh overlays.Up next is this mix of university blue and collegiate orange that sits firmly above the pre-yellowed vintage treated outsole and leather underlays, which achieve the aged look as intended. Finally, orange leather Swooshes, an aged midsole and a light orange rubber outsole tops off the style.
This Air Jordan 1 Low Mocha Brown shares a very similar shape to the Dunk, so there’s no surprise it’s surging in popularity once again. This colourway features Sail and Mocha Brown suede panels accompanied by a soft pink quilted collar and subtle reflective details on the back heel.the retro indulges in fall-appropriate colors, and even quilted inner lining, but the shades used evoke Scott’s own “Mocha” takes on the Air Jordan 1. Furthermore, the reflective hit on the spine could be interpreted as Team Jumpman infusing some of the functionality embraced by the Texas-native into its solo-efforts.
