Although the demand for decorative umbrellas has increased all over the world, the export from Bangladesh has stopped. This umbrella, which has been produced for almost a century, was last exported in the last 2016-17 financial year. According to traders, the crisis is due to the lack of market control in China and the lack of proper government measures. At present there are about 125 umbrella and equipment traders in Chawkbazar.
These umbrella shops are located in Chawkbazar, Chakmogaltuli and Moulvibazar. Most stores have small workshops. In all these workshops various tools are added. 4 factories in old Dhaka make umbrella shack
