The cascading effect of various schemes to propel the growth of automotive industry and it is poised to rank third in the world by 2030. New Delhi: India’s automotive industry is poised to rank number three in the world by 2030, with various schemes like the Rs. 25,938 crore PLI for Automobile and Auto Components supporting the sector’s growth, the government said on Monday.

Centre allocates additional 2 LMT of sugar in domestic quota


Despite a 25 per cent increase in international sugar prices in the last year, the average retail price of sugar in the country is about ₹ 43.30 per kg and is likely to remain in a range bound only. Keeping in view the strong demand for sugar for the upcoming festivals of Onam, Raksha Bandhan, and Krishna Janmashtami.

India’s foreign exchange reserves at $602.16 bn; up by $708 mn

For the week ended August 11, the foreign currency assets, a major component of the reserves, increased $999 million to $534.399 billion. India’s foreign exchange reserves jumped $708 million to $602.161 billion for the week ended August 11, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said on Friday.
